Ahh celebrities. Do they really have more money than sense? We think not! We reckon there’s nothing senseless about having a good, healthy passion for cars, and there are quite a few celebrities who’ve attracted a lot of attention over the past few years for their outrageous car collections, some of them totalling well into the millions for limited edition models and makes.
Here’s a look at just a few celebrities who have enviable (and admittedly a little outrageous) car collections:
Music star Akon recently showed off his car collection at the Atlanta V103 Car and Bike Show. His collection consists of the Ferrari 458 Italia, Audi R8, Lamborghini and Mercedes SLR, as well as his latest addition to his fleet, a Porsche Panamera.

Jay Leno’s car obsession is so huge, it has its own website and blog: Jay Leno’s Garage. His collection has over 200 models, including a Bugatti and a jet-powered motorcycle, and he also has an entire team of full time staff of mechanics to continually service and maintain his four-wheeled (and two-wheeled) babies.

Compared to Leno’s, rapper 50 Cent’s car collection seems almost modest. His “blue car collection” as he calls it, consists of a Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, Rolls Royce Ghost and Ferrari F430 (guess which colour they all are…), all of which would have cost a tidy sum of at least $US3 million dollars).
According to Ralph Lauren, cars are works of art – and we couldn’t agree more. To date, his collection consists of at least 39 exotic, classic and luxury cars, the most outstanding and impressive being his 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic coupe – one of just three ever produced. His collection was on exhibition last year in Paris at the Les Arts Decoratifs Museum. Also on display was his Bugatti Veyron, 1929 Blower Bentley, 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 Mille Miglia, 1958 Ferrari 250 Tesla Rossa, McLaren F1, 1930 Mercedes Count Trossi SSK, and many, MANY more…

If money wasn’t an issue, what would be the first car you would add to your luxury car collection?
