Alfa Romeo is a brand with a legacy kilometres long. Since 1906, they have been making cars that were known throughout the world as some of the most beautiful vehicles ever made.
That glorious past is set to make a triumphant return as the Italian-based company will be releasing three new sports cars by the end of next year.
Replacing the 159 model, the new Giulia model is set to help Alfa Romeo take the world by storm. The compact, luxury-focused sedan will be targeting the likes of BMW’s 3-Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Current concept photos reveal gorgeous lines drawn tight over evocative curves. The trademark Alfa Romeo triangular grille sits poised at the head of a long, swooping bonnet.
What is under the bonnet, though, is even more impressive. A jaw-dropping 3.0L bi-turbo engine will be available, built by the likes of Ferrari in order to ensure the highest build quality. The engine is expected to output between 358kW and 388kW, enough power to plaster a permanent smile while driving it.
Less is known about this vehicle, other than the fact that it will be a compact crossover sport SUV based on the Giulietta platform. Analysts expect the vehicle to be focused on a tight-handling chassis that will soak up dips and divots while hauling down the road.
No word is known on any potential engine configurations, and so far all images shown have been non-finalised concepts. Nevertheless, the potential designs have been nothing short of gorgeous, and they all echo Alfa Romeo’s new style. The car is slated to compete with luxury crossovers like the BMW X3 and the Audi Q3.
