The World’s Fastest Cars

The car industry continues to push the boundaries of innovation and engineering, creating some of the fastest and most powerful sports cars on the road. As of 2021, these are considered to be the fastest cars in the world:

Hennessey Venom F5: 301 mph (485 km/h)

The Hennessey Venom F5 is a true supercar with a top speed of 301 mph (485 km/h). It is powered by a 7.4-litre V8 engine and boasts a 0-60 mph acceleration time of under 2 seconds. The Venom F5 is expected to have a price tag of around $2.1 million.

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+: 304 mph (490 km/h)

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is the fastest car in Bugatti's lineup, reaching a top speed of 304 mph (490 km/h). It is powered by an 8.0-litre W16 engine and has a price tag of around $3.9 million.

Koenigsegg Jesko: 300 mph (483 km/h)

The Koenigsegg Jesko is a limited-edition supercar that can reach a top speed of 300 mph (483 km/h). It is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 engine and has a price tag of around $3 million. This high-performance sports car is manufactured by Swedish car maker Koenigsegg. It is named after the father of company founder Christian von Koenigsegg. The Jesko's engine can produce up to 1,280 horsepower and 1,106 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful cars in the world.

The Jesko also features an advanced aerodynamics package, which includes active suspension and active front air flaps to improve handling and stability at high speeds. Additionally, the car is equipped with Koenigsegg's proprietary "Light Speed Transmission", which is a 9-speed multi-clutch transmission that allows for lightning-fast gear shifts. The Jesko is a limited production model with only 125 units planned to be built and sold around the world.

9ff GT9-R: 257 mph (413.6km/h)

The 9ff GT9-R might not be one of the most well known cars, but it is certainly one of the fastest. In fact, the 9ff GT9-R was designed to deliberately take the title of the world’s fastest roadster and can reach 0-62mph in just 2.9 seconds. Sadly, the Bugatti Veyron crushed that dream. However, this car costs only around $700,000, making it one of the most affordable supercars around.

SSC Ultimate Aero: 256.18mph (412.28km/h)

The SSC Ultimate Aero holds two records in the Guinness World Record Book as the fastest roadster in the world. In fact, this car held the record for almost three years, until the Bugatti Veyron came along and dethroned the SSC Ultimate Aero. The car manufacturers announced that they would be releasing an XT version of the Ultimate Aero that will allegedly reach 273mph.
